Beji River Adventure runs its quad-bike routes through a 12-kilometre corridor of volcanic terrain between Singapadu Kaler and the Ayung River basin, a topography carved by millennia of tropical erosion. The five principal trails—Gorilla Face Cave, Barong Caves, Ayung River, Waterfall Trail and Jungle Tunnel—cross twenty private agricultural plots under long-term access agreements with Gianyar landowners, a model that predates the island's tourism boom. The operator opened in 2014 with eight ATVs; by 2026 the fleet numbers forty-two vehicles, all four-stroke Hondas rebuilt every eighteen months to meet the mechanical demands of wet-season mud and dry-season dust. The waterfall segment—integrated into four of the five routes—descends through a secondary-growth forest corridor where the water table sits close to the surface year-round. Two named cascades anchor the trail: Tukad Bangkung (17 metres, flowing from a spring-fed tributary) and an unnamed 9-metre drop locals call Air Terjun Kecil, both accessible via compacted laterite paths wide enough for side-by-side passage. The geology is Quaternary volcanic tuff overlaid with alluvial clay, a substrate that holds water but drains quickly after rain, keeping the trails rideable within hours of a downpour. Guides pause at both falls for photographs, a ritual that stretches a 90-minute loop to two hours when groups exceed six riders. The cave tunnels—hand-cut passages through soft tuff dating to Dutch-era irrigation projects—add a subterranean dimension absent from coastal ATV circuits. Gorilla Face Cave, the longest navigable tunnel at 180 metres, requires headlights and a single-file procession; its walls still bear chisel marks from the original excavation. The Barong Caves route threads three shorter tunnels with carved niches that once held Hindu shrines, their blackened ceilings evidence of incense burned for decades before the paths were repurposed for motorised traffic.
